Police in Assam’s Karimganj district reported that a 15-year-old girl was found dead in a semi-nude state at her home on Saturday night. The girl’s family members alleged that she had been raped and murdered, according to police. Karimganj Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das informed that the incident occurred at Railway Siding in the Karimganj police station area.
The SP said that a police team was immediately dispatched to the scene to take custody of the body. The family reported that the girl was in conversation with them until 9 pm, and seemed to be in good health. However, they later discovered her dead under suspicious circumstances.
The body has been sent to Silchar for a post-mortem to help uncover further details of the case. No suspects have been detained thus far, and the investigation is still in its preliminary stages.
