This festival has given us an opportunity to fulfil Prime Minster Narendra Modi\u2019s vision of Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat and would act as bridge between North East and South India. We must take this opportunity to showcase Assam and NE\u2019s natural beauty to the world through Pushkar Mahotsav, Sonowal said.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Saying the devotees from South India visiting the state to take part in the Mahotsav were not guests but relatives as everyone belongs to the greater national identity of India, Sonowal said festivals like Pushkar Mahotsav help in fostering a sense of togetherness among the people of various parts of the country. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The river festival, organised by Purva Tirupathi Sri Balaji Samiti Guwahati in collaboration with Sri Mahalakshmi Charitable Trust, Chennai, would revive humanistic values, help in discovering resources and possibilities of the land while attracting tourists to the state and region, he opined.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Pushkar Mahotsav is a river festival which is organised at the banks of 12 important rivers in the country occurring once every 12 years for each river.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav and many dignitaries along with organising committee members were also present on the occasion.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ASSAM TIMES POST Guwahati: Brahmaputra Pushkar and Sanskritik Mahotsav began today.\u00a0 Mahotsav 2019 held for the first time in Assam\u00a0 on the banks of the mighty river at Sonaram High School Field in Bharalumukh area of Guwahati attended by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and devotees from South India taking part in the 12-day river festival.
