Azanta Talukdar\u00a0 :<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Dhansiri Valley Public School, an English-medium institution affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and one of the leading educational institutions of Bokakhat co-district, known for promoting Assamese values and culture, organized a series of events on June 5 in observance of World Environment Day. The programme included tree plantation, an art exhibition, and a science exhibition-cum-competition within the school premises.<\/span><\/p>\n The grand event was attended by Pradip Sharma, Block Resource Person of Golaghat West Block, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished environmentalist, author, and Headmistress of Bongaon Chola High School, Girimallika Saikia, attended as the Guest of Honour. Rintu Duwara, President of the Komargaon Regional Journalists’ Association, and Pawan Gogoi, Vice-President of the association, attended as guests. The art exhibition, featuring the works of 156 students, and the science model exhibition, in which 367 students participated, were formally inaugurated by Chief Guest Pradip Sharma. The artworks displayed by the students captivated the audience and earned widespread appreciation.<\/span><\/p>\n The science exhibition showcased 118 innovative science models prepared by enthusiastic students from Classes I to X. The exhibits received high praise from visitors and attendees alike. <\/span>The programme, compered by teacher Dipshikha Tamuly, included speeches by Chief Guest Pradip Sharma, Guest of Honour Girimallika Saikia, and the Chairman of school managing committee, Dr. Bedabrata Barhoi. On the occasion of World Environment Day, Pradip Sharma also planted a sapling. During the morning session, the students presented a meaningful thematic performance highlighting environmental awareness, which was warmly appreciated by the audience.<\/span><\/p>\n At the art exhibition, Pawan Gogoi, Rintu Duwara, and teacher Daniel, among others, addressed the gathering. The judges for the science exhibition were Nimisha Dutta, Chemistry teacher; Chinmoy Bora, Zoology teacher; and Dhiraj Baruah, Physics teacher, all from Gyanmarg Academy, Nimaligarh. <\/span>The school’s Principal, Prahabjyot Kaur, all teaching and non-teaching staff, and hundreds of parents attended the programme and encouraged the students. Smritirekha Sharma Barhoi, a member of the management committee, was also present.<\/span><\/p>\n The distinguished guests were felicitated with traditional handwoven Assamese floral gamosas and specially crafted handmade flower bouquets. <\/span>It is noteworthy that, alongside modern educational and cultural practices, the students of the school have been successfully presenting Guru Srimanta Shankardeva and Srimanta Madhavdeva’s composed Ghosa-Pad, Sattriya dance, Assamese songs, and various traditional dances and musical forms of Assam.
