<\/a>According to police sources, officers stationed at the Khotkhoti SBI checkpoint flagged down a trailer bearing registration number PB-03-AT-3866, which was traveling from Manipur toward Bokajan. During the inspection, officers noticed suspicious modifications in the rear cabin of the vehicle. Upon closer examination, they discovered plastic packets concealed inside a hidden compartment.<\/span><\/p>\n The search led to the recovery of 11 packets of illegal poppy substance weighing approximately 5 kilograms and 815 grams. The narcotics were tightly sealed in plastic packaging, indicating deliberate attempts to avoid detection during transit. Officers immediately detained the two occupants of the vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n The arrested duo has been identified as Lakhwinder Singh, aged 40, son of late Malkit Singh and a resident of Dangian under Jagroa Police Station in Ludhiana district, Punjab; and Paraminder Singh, aged 35, son of late Gurmail Singh, hailing from Chugha Khurd under Sadar Police Station in Moga district of Punjab. Both individuals are currently being interrogated to uncover possible links to larger narcotics trafficking networks.<\/span><\/p>\n The operation was led by Surya Kumar Bora, Officer-in-Charge of Khotkhoti Police Station. He was assisted by Sub-Inspectors Debasis Bora and Jibon Saikia, along with other station staff.
