Sources indicate that the man was detained by order of Officer-in-Charge (OC) Biswajit Saharia, who has since been transferred to the reserve line. In light of the uproar, the Assam Police have taken decisive action. Two sub-inspectors and three constables were suspended immediately and instructed to report to the district headquarters.
