The joint command had been dispatched last night based on intelligence tips suggesting a significant presence of Naxalites in the Kerlapal area. As they ventured into the dense forest, they were ambushed by a group of insurgents, sparking a fierce confrontation. Amid the chaos, security personnel were able to recover the bodies of 16 Naxalites, with the operation still underway to apprehend any remaining militants.<\/span><\/p>\n

A senior official involved in the operation, who wished to remain anonymous, shed light on the situation, stating that the security forces were sufficiently prepared to take on the Maoists. \u201cOur personnel were well-equipped and gunned, and we were confident that we would be able to contain the situation without any major losses,\u201d the official explained.
