Authorities report that water rushed into the mine, creating a perilous situation for the workers who were on-site at the time. Mayank Kumar Jha, Superintendent of Police (SP) for Dima Hasao, confirmed to a media that multiple laborers are feared to be trapped, although he refrained from providing an exact figure at this time. Eyewitness accounts and initial assessments suggest that the flooding occurred unexpectedly, leaving the workers unable to escape the dangerous conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n
