The districts affected by this suspension are Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Jiribam, and Pherzawl. While the ban was initially scheduled to end at 5:15 PM on December 1, 2024, it has now been extended to December 3, 2024, at the same time. This measure is part of efforts under the Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency or Public Safety) Rules, 2017, to maintain public safety and harmony.<\/span><\/p>\n

While broadband services like ILL and FTTH remain operational, they do so under certain conditions specified in earlier orders from November 18, 2024. The government has stated that exemptions from the mobile internet suspension could be granted on a case-by-case basis.<\/span><\/p>\n

Authorities have emphasized that these preventive orders are necessary given the urgency of the situation. Compliance with the directives is mandatory, and any violations will be met with legal consequences.
