O<\/span>n Friday, a significant decision was made during the Assam government<\/a>‘s cabinet meeting. This time, the cabinet decided to hand over the investigation of the recent massive trading scam that has shaken the state and the country to the CBI.<\/span><\/p>\n

Assam Government Transfers Major Trading Scam Investigation to CBI; Announces Expansive Welfare Measures<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Home Department of the Assam government has already prepared a lengthy list of scams related to online trading. The Assam government plans to hand over the investigation of around 32 such scams to the CBI. The state’s Chief Secretary has already made contact with the CBI and completed all initial discussions.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

After the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed a press conference and publicly announced this decision. He stated that all the scandals occurring in Assam under the guise of trading will be handed over to the CBI for investigation, with the goal of completely eradicating these crimes. Dr. Sarma further mentioned that until the case is handed over to the CBI, the Assam Police will continue to handle the entire investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In addition to the trading scandal, several other decisions were made in today’s cabinet meeting. The Assam government will take special measures to increase the number of beneficiaries under the Arunodoi scheme across the state. Meetings will be held in Assam’s 126 constituencies starting from September 19. Through these meetings, the Assam government aims to increase the number of beneficiaries by 10,000 in each constituency. A decision to increase the total number of Arunodoi beneficiaries by 12,60,000 across the state was also made in today’s cabinet meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Chief Minister also announced that a significant decision regarding ration cards was made in today’s cabinet meeting. From September 19th, 17 lakh people in the state will receive new ration cards. Additionally, he disclosed that under the Atmanirbhar scheme, 25,238 beneficiaries have been approved. Each of these beneficiaries will receive 2 lakh rupees. Out of this, 1 lakh rupees will need to be returned to the government after 5 years without any interest.<\/span><\/p>\n
