The operation, which took place around 3 PM, was led by Bokajan Sub-division Police Officer Rustamraj Brahma, in collaboration with Khatkhati police station’s Officer-in-Charge Nitul Saikia and other staff members. The team set up a routine checkpoint in front of the SBI bank in Khatkhati, leading to the discovery.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to reliable sources, the police were conducting a regular checkpoint operation when they intercepted an Eeco van ambulance, bearing the registration number MN 06 LX 1916, traveling from Manipur towards Guwahati. Upon thorough inspection, they discovered 23 soap boxes cleverly concealed under the bonnet of the ambulance. These boxes contained approximately 265 grams of suspected heroin.<\/span>

The primary suspect, identified as Siraj, the son of Abdul Rashid from Santhil Makhalikie in Imphal, Manipur, was immediately apprehended. Police sources confirmed that Siraj is currently under investigation to gather more information regarding the drug trafficking network. The market value of the seized heroin is estimated to be over Rs. 2 crore.<\/span><\/div>\n
