Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Nitul Saikia swiftly mobilized to intercept the suspect. The woman, identified as 34-year-old Farida Khatun from Bokajan Dumukhia, was apprehended while she was seated at the Jadav Hotel near Hanuman Temple. Upon a thorough search of her person, the officers discovered 12 soap boxes containing the illicit substance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The confiscated heroin weighed a substantial 206.88 grams, with an estimated market value of \u20b91.4 crore. This haul represents a major blow to the drug trafficking networks operating in the region. The operation was conducted in the presence of Bokajan Sub-Division Police Officer (SDPO) Rustamraj Brahma and independent witnesses, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal protocols.<\/span><\/p>\n

The seized heroin has been taken into custody under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
