On Saturday, the Manipur Police<\/a> rescued a 22-year-old youth who had been kidnapped and arrested eight people in relation to the case, as reported by the Press. Imphal<\/a> West Superintendent of Police, Ksh Shivakanta Singh, stated that Laishram Chinglen Singh had been taken from the DM College of Science New Boy’s Hostel on Friday afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n Shivakanta said, according to a reporter, that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of \u20b915 lakh from the parents of Laishram for his safe release. A complaint by the youth’s parents was filed, and Imphal West District Police conducted searches at different places. <\/span><\/p>\n In the early hours of the morning, a police team raided Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai in Imphal West district and successfully rescued Laishram from the home of Asem Chaoba (63).
